God vs money part 2
Finally, part 2 of my God vs money post.
Ok, it's been awhile since I did a blog post, so I may be a bit slow.
I'm not going on a whole spew that money is evil. Truth is, it's not. It's a gift from the Creator. Trip Lee put it wisely that, having money doesn't mean you have favor with God, and being broke doesn't mean that you don't. Money is a gift from the Creator, let's glorify Him with it. Money is not the root of all evil. So many people misinterpret that verse, I used to be the same way. The love of money is the root of all evil. The verse is saying that loving money leads to evil things, not money. Sure, man can get wicked for money, but that's because of love of money. The same can be said for television, video games, computers, etc etc. While most of them are not bad to say, most idolize it and love them, that's when it becomes bad.
Ecclesiastes 5:10: He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.
The person who loves money, won't be satisfied, instead they will want even more. A man who is grateful to have money, will save it and cherish it.
Hebrews 13:5: Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Here it is saying to be content with what you have. Notice this though "Keep your life free from the love of money," notice it doesn't just say money, it says "the LOVE of money," money isn't bad, the love of money is bad. Now with being content with what you have, it is just saying be grateful for what God has given you.
